Welcome to www.arkanatools.com, operated by Arkana Tools ApS, a Danish company located in Copenhagen, Denmark (“Arkana Tools,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Service, which includes the website at www.arkanatools.com, its subdomains, and any tools, content, or digital downloads provided by Arkana Tools ApS. We may also operate affiliated platforms, such as our Discord community or Patreon page, which may be subject to additional guidelines or terms where applicable.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
Arkana Tools ApS (“Arkana Tools,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a suite of digital utilities and downloadable materials designed to support physical tabletop role-playing games (the “Service”). The Service enables users to generate, customize, and export printable materials such as maps, tokens, miniatures, and other downloadable assets (collectively, the “Output”).
The Service currently includes, but is not limited to, Paper Map Generator and Paper Miniature Converter, which allow users to generate, customize, and export printable assets for personal tabletop use. Access to certain premium features, downloadable files, or bonus content (“Premium Features”) may be offered through Patreon or other approved platforms. All such features and downloads made available by Arkana Tools—whether through our website, Patreon, or other official channels—are considered part of the Service and are governed by these Terms.
Unless you hold a valid commercial license agreement with Arkana Tools ApS, all materials provided through the Service, including any downloadable perks or Output, are for personal, non-commercial use only.
By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old or have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian. You must comply with all applicable laws when accessing or using the Service.
Certain features of the Service (“Premium Features”) are accessible only through a valid Patreon membership or other officially supported third-party integration. By linking your Patreon account, you authorize Arkana Tools ApS to verify your membership tier and grant corresponding access within the Service.
Billing, renewal, and cancellation of Patreon memberships are governed solely by Patreon’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Arkana Tools does not control or process Patreon payments directly, and any billing or refund issues must be resolved through Patreon.
Your access to Premium Features will remain active only while your Patreon membership is valid and properly linked.
Separate commercial license agreements are available for creators or organizations wishing to distribute, sell, or publicly share Output generated through the Service. See Section 4 (“Commercial Licensing”) for details.
Use of the Service for any commercial purpose—including distribution, resale, or public sharing of Output—requires a valid Commercial License issued by Arkana Tools ApS.
Commercial Licenses are distinct from Patreon memberships and are governed by separate written agreements between the licensee and Arkana Tools. Unless otherwise stated in such an agreement, all rights granted under a Commercial License apply only for the term of the license and are non-transferable.
Any use of the Service or Output for commercial purposes without a valid Commercial License constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of access and potential legal action.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Arkana Tools grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You may generate, download, and print Output using the Service solely for your own tabletop gaming activities or other private use. Unless you hold a valid Commercial License under Section 4, you may not sell, redistribute, sublicense, or otherwise use any Output for commercial purposes.

These examples are illustrative and not exhaustive. Any use of the Service or Output that involves monetary gain, promotional benefit, or public distribution requires a valid Commercial License under Section 4.

All rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms are reserved by Arkana Tools ApS.
You retain ownership of any creative input, layout decisions, or other original elements that you contribute while using the Service (“User Content”).
The Service may generate or export Output based on your User Content and Arkana Tools’ proprietary templates, assets, and rendering systems. You own the copyright in your User Content to the extent it is original to you. However, all Output is subject to the license restrictions in Section 5 (“License and Restrictions”) and may not be sold, redistributed, or used commercially without a valid Commercial License.
All software, design systems, and visual elements underlying the Service remain the exclusive property of Arkana Tools ApS. You receive only a limited right to use the Output in accordance with these Terms.
Any violation of the license and use restrictions in Section 5 constitutes prohibited conduct and may result in termination under Section 10. In addition, you agree not to:
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including its source code, software, website design, user interface, underlying systems, documentation, and all visual or design assets (including textures, templates, icons, and graphic elements), are and will remain the exclusive property of Arkana Tools ApS and its licensors.
The Service and its contents are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws of Denmark, the European Union, and applicable international treaties. All rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms are reserved by Arkana Tools ApS.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works from any part of the Service or its assets except as expressly permitted by these Terms or under a valid Commercial License.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
Arkana Tools ApS does not store personal data beyond what is necessary to operate the Service and maintain session functionality. Access to Premium Features is managed through Patreon or other approved third-party integrations, which are subject to their own privacy and data protection terms.
If payment processing for Commercial Licenses or Premium Features is handled by third-party providers (such as Paddle), such providers act as independent data controllers for payment information.
In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding the handling of personal data, the Privacy Policy shall prevail.
You may terminate these Terms at any time by ceasing to use the Service. Because we do not maintain user accounts, no additional action is required to end your use.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or use the Service in a manner that could harm Arkana Tools or others. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease.
If you hold a Commercial License, termination will also result in the revocation of your right to generate new Output, though your rights to previously licensed Output will remain as defined in your separate Commercial License agreement.
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Arkana Tools does not guarantee that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arkana Tools disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arkana Tools ApS and its affiliates, officers, employees, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the Service or Output.
In no event shall Arkana Tools’ total liability exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid for access to Premium Features in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Danish courts.

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features, changes in law, or technical adjustments. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you provide feedback, ideas, or suggestions about the Service (“Feedback”), you grant Arkana Tools a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that Feedback without restriction. This helps us improve the Service while avoiding ownership disputes.
